Delicious Milkybar blondies topped with microwave caramel and creamy white chocolate, finished with Milkybar Festive Friends for the perfect Christmas bake.

Milky Bar Millionaire Blondies
Can we just talk about how adorable the Milkybar Festive Friends chocolates are? As soon as I spotted them on the shelves, I knew I had to bake something fun and delicious with them. And what better way to show them off than on top of a batch of fudgy white chocolate blondies? These blondies are already incredibly rich and sweet, but adding a layer of easy microwave caramel takes them to the next level. I love making caramel in the microwave because it’s quick, fuss-free, and far less stressful than standing over a hot hob, just remember it gets very hot, so take care when stirring!
To finish, the blondies are topped with a smooth layer of melted Milkybar chocolate, which just happens to be my absolute favourite white chocolate. Honestly, it’s the only white chocolate I’ll happily eat, and it makes these Christmas blondies taste unbelievably creamy and festive.

Blondie Base
This blondie base is my signature white chocolate blondie recipe, and it always delivers the most incredible results. The secret? Melted white chocolate mixed directly into the blondie batter. It creates the perfect fudgy texture, soft in the centre, beautifully set around the edges, and super easy to slice cleanly. I always include melted white chocolate because it guarantees that dense, fudgy blondie texture everyone loves.
For this festive version, I also added chopped Milkybar chunks as the mix-ins, but you can skip them if you prefer a slightly lighter blondie. Still, this traybake is a white chocolate lover’s dream because every layer is packed with creamy white chocolate flavour!
One important tip: don’t use Milkybar chocolate for the blondie base. It’s delicious, but it won’t give you the right texture when melted into the batter, it’s too creamy and melts differently. Instead, use a cheap supermarket white chocolate bar. Honestly, the budget-friendly bars (like Aldi or Tesco’s 55p white chocolate) work perfectly here and give the best blondie structure. Save the Milkybar for the mix-ins and topping where the flavour really shines.

Microwave Caramel
Microwave caramel is genuinely my favourite way to make caramel, it gives you the same results as the traditional hob method but without the stress of standing over a pan. I’ve always found stovetop caramel a bit unpredictable, so the microwave caramel method is the only one I use now! So many bakers prefer this technique because there’s no boiling, no thermometer, and no risk of burning a pan, but do be careful as the caramel still gets extremely hot.
To make it, simply add all your caramel ingredients into a large, microwave-safe bowl. Heat the mixture in 1-minute intervals, stirring really well after each blast. Keep repeating until the caramel turns darker, thickens, and becomes gorgeously fudge-like. This usually takes around 10–15 minutes, sometimes a little longer depending on your microwave. The result is a smooth, rich, foolproof caramel layer, perfect for blondies, millionaire bars, and festive traybakes.
This microwave caramel works perfectly for me most of the time, but on the odd occasion it can split if it gets a little too hot. If this happens to you, don’t panic, it’s completely fixable. To help prevent splitting in the first place, try microwaving your caramel in 30-second intervals instead of full minutes. It gives you more control and keeps the temperature more stable.
If your caramel does split, a simple trick can save it, use a hand blender! A quick blend usually brings it right back together into a smooth, glossy, perfectly pourable caramel. It’s such a handy method and has rescued my caramel more than once.

Ingredients
- White chocolate– I use melted white chocolate in the base of this recipe. i just use a supermarket own chocolate, the cheapest i can find really!
- Butter– I suggest using Unsalted Butter for blondies but you can use baking spread if you’d like.
- Caster sugar– I use just caster sugar for my blondies For sweetness and added chewiness. You can use light brown sugar if you’d like to add some caramel flavours depending on what add ins you use!
- Eggs– I use two eggs for structure and another egg yolk for richness. You can save the egg white for another bake!
- Golden Syrup– I love adding golden syrup into my blondies, it adds sweetness and makes the texture even better trust me on this one!
- Plain flour & Cornflour– I use plain flour and cornflour in this recipe. Cornflour helps achieve a fudgy, chewy texture. If you don’t have cornflour/cornstarch then you can just use plain flour! Don’t worry the blondies will still be amazing!
- Unsalted Butter (For the caramel)- Creates a rich, creamy base and helps the caramel set with a smooth, glossy finish. Unsalted butter keeps the flavour balanced.
- Caster Sugar– Adds sweetness and melts quickly for a smooth, lump-free caramel.
- Golden Syrup– Prevents crystallising and gives the caramel its soft, chewy texture and golden flavour.
- Condensed Milk– The key ingredient that thickens into a creamy, fudge-like caramel layer, perfect for blondies, cookie bars and millionaire slices.
- Milkybar Chocolate– The star ingredient for these festive blondies! Chopped Milkybar added into the blondie base, drizzled over the microwave caramel, and finished with Milkybar Festive Friends for a fun, festive touch. Perfect for white chocolate lovers and Christmas baking!
Tips & Tricks
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer freshness.
- Don’t overbake! Slightly underbaked blondies will set as they cool and stay fudgy.
- I mix my blondies just until the ingredients are combined. Some recipes say to whip up your eggs or butter until light and fluffy but this isn’t Necessary for these blondies!
- Let them cool fully before slicing for clean edges.
- Make sure to use the right sized baking tin. I use a 9×9″ square tin for these blondies. This is the tin I use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Milky Bar in the blondie batter?
No, Milkybar is too soft and creamy to give the blondie the right texture. For the blondie base, use a supermarket white chocolate bar (like Aldi or Tesco) for the best fudgy, sliceable texture. Save the Milkybar for the topping and mix-ins so you get that signature white chocolate flavour without compromising the bake.
Why are my blondies dry?
They’re likely overbaked, aim for slightly underdone in the centre; they’ll set as they cool. You will want a slight wobble in the middle when you take them out of the oven. Refrigerating them will help set them and create that dreamy fudgy blondie texture!
How Do I Know If My Blondies Are Baked?
This is one of the hardest things when it comes to baking blondies, knowing when to take them out at the right time. Using a skewer won’t help as blondies will still be gooey, similar to a brownie when they’re removed from the oven! They should have a slight wobble in the middle when you remove them from the oven, They will also set more as they cool down, wait until they are cool and put them in the fridge for 3-4 hours to ensure you get the BEST blondie texture. (Put it in the fridge still in the tin).
Can I make these blondies ahead of time?
Absolutely. They keep well for 4–5 days in an airtight container.
Can I freeze Milkybar blondies?
Yes! Freeze for up to 3 months, just wrap slices individually. (Do not freeze before the caramel is fully set.)
